No rich person would want Socialism to succeed - after all it would restrict their ability to exploit our world and the people in it. Ordinary people who are inclined to believe in the things people like Rush Limbaugh say are being sucked in.
ReplyDeleteOn another post I heard Lyndon Johnson speak (1964) - he said, "the great society is a place where every child can buy knowledge to enrich his mind..." Key word BUY. No free ride for any kid in the good old US it seems.
Bruja: some good points made there. And the insight that even human rights are framed in economic terms is key.
